Carlisle Mountaineering Club is happy to welcome new members.

Anyone can come along to a club meet, literally to meet the regular members. We are a friendly bunch and appreciate how hard it is for a newcomer to our area to make contacts and find climbing partners.

Unfortunately the Club is not equipped or qualified to teach rock climbing. so a basic ability to rock climb is required. As long as you can display a level of competence in belaying and rope work, you can tag along.

If you would like to learn abouit rock climbing or are not sure of your competence then contact Phil Tinning on 01228 598210 for information regarding courses on a local climbing wall.
