Pete Hill MIC, FRGS

Pete is holder of the Mountain Instructors Certificate, the highest UK qualification for instructing walking, climbing and mountaineering, and is resident instructor to TGO magazine. He is a course director for ML and SPA courses, and runs winter skills courses from introductory through to intermediate, as well as trips to Nepal.

 

His books include ‘The International Handbook of Technical Mountaineering', the forthcoming ‘Sport Climbing Handbook' and co-authorship of the globally successful ‘The Mountain Skills Training Handbook'.

 

He has climbed and new-routed all over the world, and includes certifiable things like winter ascents of the North Faces of the Eiger and Matterhorn in his CV!

Pete has a sense of humour. As well as being a famous Mountain Instructor, he is joint author of the globally successful "The Mountain Skills Training Handbook", and has just had "The International Encyclopaedia of Technical Mountaineering", published.

Pete is the only person elected twice to the Chair of AMI, his technical book has been translated into loads of languages including Russian and Czech.
Pete lives in, or should that be ON, the Cairngorms, he is AALA licensed and has made TV appearances and has been on the Radio. He has climbed new routes around the world. He has even taught the Crown Prince of Norway!
